A consignee refuses two pallets. They were added to the order by mistake, or they were damaged in transit. The driver can’t leave rejected freight on the dock, and can’t haul it to the next stop either. The next load is waiting, and the freight still needs a plan.
TSI gives that freight a place to land. Bring it to our New Albany facility, we unload and hold it, and your driver moves on. When you know where it’s going, we load it back out.
How our Cross-Docking Service Works
Cross-docking at TSI means we unload skidded freight and reload it for its next move. When the next move isn’t settled yet, we hold the freight until it is.
- We unload and hold. Skidded freight is received and held at our facility.
- We load it out when you’re ready. Hold it for. When the destination is settled, we reload it for pickup or delivery.

- Truck-to-truck transfers of skidded freight.
- All freight types accepted except for household and refrigeration
When a Consignee Refuses Freight
Rejected freight needs a place to sit while someone decides where it goes. It can go back to the shipper, on to a new consignee, or into a claim. That decision often takes longer than the driver’s schedule allows.
A rejected load, whether refused whole or in part, still has to come off the truck. TSI takes the pallets, notes what arrived and in what condition, and holds them until you have instructions.

We charge per pallet in, per pallet out, and for storage time. Fees depend on how long the freight is stored. Call and we’ll walk you through it for your shipment.

We will document damages with pictures and also notate on the paperwork.
We can hold freight months if needed, but it would need to be right opportunity. Normally we hold freight for days to weeks.
The only freight we can’t accept is household goods and refrigerated.
